Rally driver Umar Dauda, a two-time winner of the United Motor Club Fort Portal Rally (2022 & 2023), is aiming to upgrade his car to compete at a higher level.
A fundraising sprint event was launched at Tavern Woods Kabusu to help him achieve this goal.
The event, organized by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs Uganda (FMU) and several sponsors, aims to raise $40,000 to support Dauda’s acquisition of an Evo 10 car.
Dauda expressed gratitude to his supporters, including his family, fellow drivers, and the Federation, for their unwavering support throughout his career.
The fundraising event will take place on July 27th and 28th at Victoria Race Way Park in Garuga.
The event will feature motor cross races, sprint races, and entertainment, with festivities starting at 8 AM on Saturday and 12 PM on Sunday.
Organizers are expecting nearly 80 motorcycle racers, including international participants.
Safety measures will be a priority during the event, with Fire and Safety operations personnel ensuring everyone’s well-being. The entrance fee for the event is set at 10,000 UGX per day.
