It was an evening of mixed feelings for Uganda Cranes defender Joseph Ochaya in the Egyptian Premier League on Sunday.
Ochaya scored on both ends of the pitch as his team Arab Contractors shared spoils in a one-all stalemate with Al Masry at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
The 30-year-old opened the scoring for the visitors from a penalty kick in the 20th minute.
Moments later, he was on the wrong side of events when he scored in his own net in the 29th minute.
It was the first time that the former KCCA player was scoring an own goal at the Egyptian club.
On the other hand, he has netted six goals and managed two assists in 28 appearances in the league this campaign.
Arab Contractors have played 29 league games so far meaning that Ochaya has not featured in just a single game when he missed out during the his side’s 1–0 defeat to Al Masry in the first leg.
Ochaya and his teammates are languishing in the relegation zone placed 17th on the 18-team log with 21 points.
Meanwhile, Travis Mutyaba’s Zamalek defeated El Daklyeh 2-1 on the same day although, the Uganda Cranes midfielder was not in the match-day squad.
The Egyptian giants are positioned fifth on 45 points after 27 outings.
Zamalek will return to action on Friday, July 26 against Pyramids whilst Arab Contractors will play Ceramica Cleopatra on Tuesday, July 30.
