Batting first, Uganda posted 107/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Tanzania, in response, managed to score 98/10 in 18.2 overs, falling short by 9 runs.

The game was marked by tight bowling and crucial wickets at pivotal moments, highlighting the competitive spirit of both teams.

Uganda’s innings began with measured aggression, but consistent breakthroughs by Tanzania kept the score in check.

Despite the efforts of Uganda’s batters, Tanzania’s disciplined bowling attack restricted them to a total of 107. Key contributions came from the lower middle order, ensuring Uganda had a fighting total to defend.

Tanzania’s chase started on a cautious note, with the early loss of Saidath Simba Mbaki, who was caught by Malisa off Immaculate Nandera’s bowling.

The Ugandan bowlers kept up the pressure, with Immaculate Nandera and Irene Mutoni delivering crucial breakthroughs. Immaculate Nandera finished with figures of 3.2-0-7-1, while Irene Mutoni took 3 wickets for 11 runs in her 3 overs.

Despite a resilient effort from Tanzania’s lower order, the team couldn’t overcome the consistent bowling attack from Uganda.

Farida Amiry Kinyumbi provided a glimmer of hope with a quick 21 off 30 balls, but it wasn’t enough to steer her team to victory. The match concluded with Tanzania being bowled out for 98, giving Uganda a well-earned victory.

The Bilateral series is part of a training tour between Uganda and Tanzania as they prepare for the U19 World Cup qualifiers.
