Ahead of the 2024-25 league season, newcomers Lugazi are making significant moves in the transfer market.
The Leaders announced on July 27 the acquisition of goalkeeper Juma Mutebi from KCCA.
Mutebi joins Lugazi on a three-year contract after playing three games for KCCA last season, having joined them in 2023.
In addition to Mutebi, Lugazi signed talented defender Bashir Asiku from Gaddafi on a two-year contract.
Atiku spent the latter part of last season with Gaddafi after starting the campaign with Wakiso Giants.
With the additions of Juma Mutebi and Bashir Asiku, Lugazi’s new signings for the season now total nine.
The other new players include Ian Amanya, Emmanuel Obua, Nelson Mandela, Dennis Lubowa, Sharif Saaka, Wasswa Paul, and Adriko Rogers.
In other news, The Leaders bid farewell to veteran defender Savio Kabugo and renewed the contracts of Derrick Mwanje and Richard Ayiko.
Lugazi are showing strong intent to compete in their first-ever top-flight campaign after earning promotion from the Big League last season.
