Muhammad Shaban will play against Stanbic Uganda Cup Champions Kitara in the CAF Confederation Cup.
This follows his unveiling at Libyan side Al Hilal Sports Club Benghazi on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Kitara and Al Hilal will battle in the first round of the Confederation Cup preliminaries next month.
Shaban put pen to paper on a one-year contract that will see him ply his trade in the Libyan city of Benghazi at least until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
He left KCCA following the expiry of his three-year contract last month.
Vipers and Onduparaka are the other Ugandan clubs he has featured for besides KCCA.
Kitara was the locally based club seeking his signature, but Al Hilal offered a better offer, and it is interesting how the above coincidence came about.
He returns abroad for the second time and again in North Africa having spent a year in Morocco when he signed for Raja Casablanca from KCCA in 2018.
Kitara will host Shaban’s Al Hilal at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on August 16 before the second leg in Benghazi a week later.
