Kalule, representing Gayaza Baseball Club, emerged as one of the tournament’s top performers, earning MVP recognition despite Uganda missing out on qualification.

His showing has marked him as one of Uganda’s brightest prospects in the sport.

The team returns home on Monday, December 8, encouraged by the progress made and focused on future international competitions.

The group carries experience from their 2023 run when Uganda won the U12 World Cup qualifiers, a feat officials believe has boosted confidence ahead of the Nairobi contest.

Before departure, National Council of Sports Assistant General Secretary Chebet Milton urged the team to maximise the opportunity, noting the government’s increased focus on sports development.

“Put in extra energy and fight for victory because right now the government is more interested in investing in sports, and winning will show the country that baseball deserves even greater support,” he said.

Uganda’s target is to return with qualification secured and keep their push toward the final tournament in Italy in 2026.
