This initiative, a significant milestone in malaria eradication efforts, has garnered attention and support since its inception.

The event, conceived at the 96th District Conference and Assembly for District 9211, has successfully organized three editions, aligning with World Malaria Day on April 25th each year. Now, as the fourth edition approaches, anticipation mounts for another impactful gathering.

Scheduled for April 28th, 2024, at Kitante Primary School, the event will kick off at 7 am, welcoming participants from across Uganda. Rotary Club Kisaasi-Kyanja has forged partnerships with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health, Malaria Free Uganda, National Drug Authority, and Next Media (NBS TV), amplifying the event’s reach and impact.

Distinguished guests slated to attend include the RT. Hon. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, Chief Runner, Minister of Works Gen Katumba Wamala, and Minister of Health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng. Their presence underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in combating malaria.

Stuart Luwemba, President-Elect of Rotary Club Kisaasi-Kyanja, issues a rallying cry for Ugandans to join the cause, emphasizing the collective responsibility in malaria prevention and treatment. Meanwhile, Godfrey Ssali, Club Chairman of FCU, underscores the vital role of fitness in this endeavor, highlighting the connection between physical health and malaria resilience.

Registration for the event is open, with fees set at 25,000 UGX for individuals and 50,000 UGX for bike rentals. Participants can also contribute through kit purchases, with proceeds dedicated to malaria elimination initiatives in Uganda.
