Takajunge, Jinja SS win inaugural Schools Cricket League

Takajunge High School emerged the inaugural winners of the Deep End Schools Cricket League yesterday following their resounding victory over St. John SS in the boys category.

The community school after being sent in to bat first beat the host school by 36 runs with Ronald Omara hitting 26 runs from just 8 balls.

In the girls category, Jinja SS overcame St. John by 25 runs to win the trophy .

Omara won player of the series accolade in the boys section while Sandra Nyesigire from the Agape Christian SS took the accolade in the girls section.

Best batter, best bowler and best wicket keeper went to Oscar Tumwekwase, Emmanuel Laloyo and Mathias Sentongo respectively.

In the girls section, Best batter, best bowler and best wicket keeper went to Mary Namiiro, Irene Mutoni and Gifted Mukabya respectively.
