Kitara FC will be out to extend their lead at the top of the 2022/23 FUFA Big League when they host Ndejje University FC on Thursday.
The Masindi based side were held to a goalless draw by Police FC in their most recent encounter, last week.
That result saw them move to 17 points and are just a point above second placed Mbarara City.
A return home should be motivation for Kitara but head coach Alex Twinamatsiko anticipates a tough encounter.
“Our games against them have not always been easy but our target is the same, to win and to do everything to be in the top flight league next season. Twinamatsiko said in his pre-match interview.
“We are playing against a credible and experienced opponent but the most important thing is to maximize our chances. It is going to be an exciting tie and we have the quality to challenge our opponents. The most important thing is we are playing at home and have the best fans whose passion and support is priceless.”
Against Ndejje, they face a side that has been stubborn to them in the past meetings. But Kitara, who have won all their four games at home this season will bank on that good run to get the job done on Thursday.
Their leading top scorer in Patrick Kaddu (9 goals), will be tasked once again to lift up his side as they seek to bounce back.
Meanwhile, the Visitors will have the same ambitions of returning back to Winning ways when they take a Visit to Kitara.
The Raymond Komakech coached side suffered a 1-0 loss against Mbarara City, after conceding a late goal in the dying minutes of the game last week on Thursday at Bombo.
In Kitara, they face a tricky side but they will bank on the good run they have enjoyed against them in the recent past.
Ndejje are currently 10th on the log with just nine points and they will have eyes on any positive result to keep closing the gap at the top.
