Rujumba 7s: Witness the Powerhouse of Rugby Clash at Kings Park Arena

Get ready for an action-packed weekend as the National Rugby 7s continues with the highly anticipated Rujumba 7s. Hosted by the Stanbic Black Pirates, this thrilling event will take place at the Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere.

The Rujumba 7s is a tournament played in honor of the late rugby legend, Henry Rujumba, who sadly passed away in 2015. Rujumba, an alumnus of Ntare School, made a name for himself playing for the Uganda Rugby Premiership side, then known as the Black Pirates, during the early 2000s.

Scheduled for two days, starting on Saturday, July 22nd and concluding on Sunday, July 23rd, the Rujumba 7s promises an exhilarating rugby experience. Both men’s and women’s teams will participate, adding to the excitement. The Impis will kick off the day’s events at 8am in the first round against Rams, setting the stage for an action-packed tournament.

This will be the third weekend of the national sevens, following the successful Stone City 7s in Jinja, where the Black Pirates dominated and emerged victorious, and the Kitgum 7s, where the Stanbic Black Pirates showcased their skills and claimed another triumph.

In addition to their impressive performance on the field, the Stanbic Black Pirates recently extended their partnership with Next Radio, securing another year of collaboration. This renewed partnership ensures that the team receives ample airtime on various Next Radio platforms.

For those unable to attend the event in person, don’t worry! You can still catch all the thrilling matches of the Rujumba 7s as they will be broadcast live on NBS Sport. Tune in and witness the electrifying rugby action unfold before your eyes.

Mark your calendars for the Rujumba 7s and be prepared for an unforgettable weekend of sportsmanship, fierce competition, and memorable moments on and off the field. Don’t miss out on this incredible showcase of rugby talent at the Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere.
