FUFA has today issued guidelines regarding the ongoing issues at Arua Hill SC and Ndejje University, both of which were demoted from the 1st and 2nd Division respectively .
Earlier this year, the Federation demoted Arua Hill Sports Club to the second division, the BetPawa FUFA Big League, for failing to fulfill the club licensing requirements, while Ndejje University withdrew their team from the Big League due to funding issues.
The statement from FUFA reads:
The FUFA Executive Committee hereby issues the following guidance in relation to the players of Ndejje University FC and Arua Hill SC who were participating in the second and first division FUFA Competition Leagues but failed to complete the ongoing 2023/2024 season due to various reasons. It is FUFA’s duty to protect the integrity of its Members and their players, as they earn a living from playing football and pursue their careers.
The FUFA Executive has therefore decided as follows:
1. All players of Ndejje University FC are free agents with immediate effect and are free to join a club of their choice.
2. All players of Arua Hill SC who are out of contract are free to join a club of their choice.
3. All players of Arua Hill SC whose contracts have been mutually terminated are free to join a club of their choice.
4. Players of Arua Hill SC who are still under contract with the club may join a club of their choice on loan for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
5. In all of the above cases, the acquiring club must have vacancies and space to recruit the players in accordance with the relevant regulations.
6. FUFA has set the period from March 1st to March 15th, 2024, for any transfers of players from Ndejje University FC and Arua Hill SC to clubs of their choice to be completed.
