Uganda Set to Make Debut at Inaugural UEFA U16 Friendship Tournament in Turkey

Uganda has been invited to the UEFA U16 Friendship Tournament slated to take place in Turkey. Organized by UEFA, this inaugural edition of the tournament will witness the participation of eight women’s football teams, including Uganda, Botswana, USA, Vietnam, China, Paraguay, and hosts Turkey, and Wales.

Pooled in Group B, Uganda will face China, Wales, and Paraguay with the tournament scheduled to take place from April 9th to 19th, 2024, at the Turkish Football Federation training centre in Riva, Istanbul.

Leading the charge for Uganda’s U16 Women’s Team is head coach Charles Ayiekoh Lukula, supported by deputy coach William Moses Nkata.

A squad of 21 players has been summoned and they entered the residential camp on Thursday at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisasi to start training and planning for the tournament.
