Following three back-to-back defeats to KIU Rangers, JT Lady Jaguars and UCU Lady Canons, A1 Challenge Basketball Club emerged triumphant over YMCA Lady Hamstars beating them 82-57.
From the opening tip-off, A1 Challenge exhibited a relentless offensive onslaught, coupled with a staunch defensive effort, setting the tone for the entire game. Led by standout performances from players like Stella Kiberenge, the team maintained control throughout the match, leaving little room for their opponents to stage a comeback.
Kiberenge’s remarkable performance was a highlight of the game, as she tallied an impressive 31 points and 22 rebounds. She was supported by stellar contributions from teammates such as Sharua Nakirya, Vivian Nafuna Lusamamba, and Sera Yaweh Precious.
Despite facing a determined YMCA Lady Hamstars team, A1 Challenge’s cohesive teamwork and strategic execution ultimately proved too much to handle. The team’s efficient scoring and tenacious defence allowed them to maintain a comfortable lead throughout the game, much to the delight of their supporters.
On the other side, the YMCA Lady Hamstars fought valiantly, but were unable to overcome the formidable challenge posed by A1 Challenge. Despite notable performances from players like Amy Grace Chan, Akello Scovia, and Florence Rachel Ogundha, the Lady Hamstars struggled to contain A1 Challenge’s offensive firepower.
Following the result, A1 Challenge Basketball Club are ninth on the table standings with 14 points while YMCA Lady Hamstars are tenth with 12 points.
