Title Race Intensifies as Kitara Face Express, while NEC Battle BUL

Kitara Football Club are preparing for a crucial match against Express Football Club at Wankulukuku Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The match holds great significance for Kitara as they aim to reclaim the top spot in the league standings.

Currently sitting 3rd on the table with 44 points, Kitara is just two points behind leaders Vipers and second-placed BUL.

A win for Kitara would propel them to the summit, provided BUL does not win their game against NEC in the late kick-off.

On the other hand, a win for Express, who is currently 9th on the table with 32 points, would see them move into 8th place, displacing URA.

The reverse fixture between Express and Kitara took place in December last year and saw Kitara emerge victorious with a 1-0 scoreline in Masindi, courtesy of a goal by Paul Mucureezi.

Head-to-head statistics reveal a balanced rivalry, with both teams securing two wins each in their previous encounters.

Interestingly, no match between these two teams has ever ended in a draw.

In recent weeks, Kitara have found it challenging to maintain consistent form. In their last five league matches, they have only managed to collect 5 points out of a possible 15. Their recent setback came in the form of a 2-0 loss to Vipers in Masindi ahead of this fixture.

Express have also struggled in recent games, managing just one victory and suffering four losses in their last five league matches. Their most recent outing ended in a 2-0 defeat to BUL in Njeru.

Can Kitara complete a league double over Express, or will Express deal a blow to Kitara’s championship aspirations? Tune in to Sanyuka Prime for live coverage at 4 pm, with pre-match analysis beginning at 3:30 pm.

At the MTN Omondi Stadium, two teams vying for the league title, 5th-placed NEC and 2nd-placed BUL, face off in the late kickoff.

BUL can take the top spot if they beat NEC. NEC, just 6 points behind the leaders at the time of writing, aim to stay in the hunt.

In their last encounter, NEC and BUL drew 1-1 in Njeru, with Rashid Okocha putting NEC ahead before Sam Ssekamatte equalized late.

This is only the second meeting between these teams.

The match kicks off at 7 pm.
