KCCA and Maroons Secure Dominant Wins in Uganda Premier League

KCCA are set to clash with Bright Stars at the Kavumba Recreation Ground, poised to strengthen their position in the title race.

KCCA enter the fixture riding a five-game winning streak, their latest triumph being a dominant 4-0 victory over Mbarara City at home.

Meanwhile, Bright Stars have managed to avoid defeat in their last five league outings, securing only one win in the process. Their previous league encounter saw them draw 1-1 away against Villa.

Currently positioned 7th in the league standings, KCCA have accumulated 38 points from 23 matches. Although they trail the league leaders by 9 points, they have played two games fewer at the time of this writing.

On the other hand, Bright Stars occupies the 10th spot with 29 points from 23 games, sitting comfortably 11 points above the relegation zone but trailing the summit by 18 points.

In their previous encounter at the MTN Omondi Stadium, KCCA emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over Bright Stars, courtesy of goals from Usama Arafat, Muhammad Shaban, and Emmanuel Peter Loki.

Historically, in the last 23 meetings between these two sides, KCCA have emerged victorious 13 times, while Bright Stars have managed 5 wins, with the remaining 5 matches ending in draws.

Victory for KCCA would propel them to 6th place with 41 points, displacing Maroons and narrowing the gap to the league leaders to 6 points, with a game in hand still in their favour.

Bright Stars have the opportunity to climb from 10th to 9th place with 32 points if they can secure a victory against KCCA by at least a 3-goal margin. This would enable them to edge out Express from their current position based on goal difference.
