The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) recently organized a two-day tactical workshop in Cairo, Egypt, aimed at fostering stronger cooperation and driving efficiency between CAF Administration and Zonal Union Management.
The workshop, held from April 29 to 30, 2024, focused on practical steps for accelerated development and knowledge exchange.
The inaugural workshop marked the first of its kind following the introduction of a new structure across all six Zonal Unions in January 2024.
Attendees included the Six Zonal Union Executive Directors and Staff, who engaged in discussions facilitated by technical experts covering various topics such as strategy development, competition, financial management, communication, marketing, women’s football development, and safeguarding.
Sarah Mukuna, CAF Director of Member Associations, emphasized the workshop’s significance in strengthening administration at CAF Headquarters, Zonal Unions, and Member Associations.
She highlighted the strategic role played by Zonal Unions in decentralizing operations and driving football development within Member Associations.
The workshop provided a platform for insightful discussions and strategic deliberations, fostering an environment conducive to achieving CAF’s objectives.
With a focus on efficiency and cooperation, CAF aims to streamline operations and advance the implementation of its strategy across all levels of the organization.
