As Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium, also known as Hamz Stadium, prepares for the highly anticipated grand reopening on 1st June 2024, the stadium management has embarked on a three-day training of security personnel and stewards to ensure the safety of all participants and attendees.
The training that started on Wednesday May 29th and will conclude on Friday May 31st, is being overseen by renowned stadium security expert Dixon Okello.
Okello, who will be in charge of the security operations at the grand reopening on Saturday stated that the stadium has deployed a team of 302 safety and security personnel (stewards) who are undergoing a three-day intensive training and drill program.
This intensive training, according to Okello, is equipping the stewards with the necessary skills and preparedness to handle any potential security challenges during the event. The exercise is aimed at creating a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
The grand reopening of Nakivubo Stadium will feature an impressive lineup of sporting events, including a kickboxing match between Umaru Semata and Golola Moses, football matches between URA and Kitara, as well as Express and SC Villa.
