Former Formula 1 team principal Eddie Jordan has predicted a resurgence for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, anticipating “fireworks” as the seven-time World Champion embarks on a new chapter in his career.
Hamilton, who has struggled to secure wins recently, will join Ferrari next season alongside Charles Leclerc, forming a highly-anticipated driver lineup.
Jordan believes the move comes at the right time for Hamilton, providing him with a fresh challenge and the opportunity to compete for another World Championship.
“In truth, I don’t believe it’s to do with contracts or money. I think he feels that he would like to see his career finish at Ferrari because it’s a magic place to go,” Jordan explained on the Formula For Success podcast.
Despite Hamilton’s age nearing 40, Jordan remains optimistic about his prospects, highlighting the impact of experience and a change in environment.
“I think that Lewis will be a serious contender for the World Championship, and I promise you he will give it an almighty crack next year before ’26. Anything can happen,” Jordan stated.
However, fellow presenter David Coulthard raised questions about Hamilton’s ability to compete with younger drivers, particularly his teammate Leclerc. While acknowledging the challenges ahead, Coulthard expressed optimism about Hamilton’s potential to defy age and remain competitive on the track.
