Kawempe Muslim Ladies were held by St. Noa Girls in a friendly match as part of their preparations for the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Nakato Rebecca scoring for Kawempe Muslim and Catherine Nagadya equalizing for St. Noa.
The CAF Women’s Champions League is scheduled to commence on August 24th, 2024, in Ethiopia.
Coach Ayubu Khalifah said this match was organised to gauge his team’s preparedness for the upcoming tournament.
He also confirmed that the registration of his players for the CAF Women’s Champions League was being finalised with all players set and registered on the system.
Kawempe Muslim Ladies will represent Uganda at 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.
The CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal qualifiers will take place August 17-31st in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
Kawempe would need to win the group that also has PVP Buyenzi (Burundi), FAD (Djibouti), CBE FC (Ethiopia), Kenya Police Bullets (Kenya), Sports Department (Rwanda), Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), Simba Queens (Tanzania) and Warriors Queens (Zanzibar).
