Goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya is back at Uganda Premier League side Vipers for a second spell, the club has confirmed.
Ssekagya’s maiden stint at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende was between 2018 and 2021.
On his return, the 26-year-old custodian has penned a three-year contract at least until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The shot-stopper has previously played for Wakiso Giants, Proline, and UPDF in Uganda, while he also played for Wazito in Kenya.
A place in Nikola Kovazovic’s starting lineup doesn’t come automatically for him, given that the Venoms already have three experienced goalkeepers in their ranks.
Jack Komakech and Congolese Alfred Mudekereza are where the first choice will be chosen, with Denis Kiggundu also available.
Right-back Nicholas Wadada is also back at the club, and left-back Derrick Ndahiro and striker Kenneth Kimera are the other familiar additions among other new signings at Kitende so far.
They’ll not only be aiming at reclaiming the UPL but also the Uganda Cup in the 2024/25 campaign.
