The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President, Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, has handed over Catapult equipment to clubs participating in the Uganda Premier League and Women Super League.
Each club received a set of 22 Catapult devices, a move FUFA say is aligned with their Technical Master Plan 2023-2030, specifically focusing on Sports Science and Technology.
The Catapult equipment, renowned for its wearable GPS tracking technology, will be used to monitor and analyze various aspects of a player’s performance during training and matches.
The data collected will be invaluable to both the individual clubs and the national team coaches in making informed decisions regarding team selection and training strategies.
The Catapult devices offer a range of features, including GPS tracking, player load monitoring, heart rate measurement, and performance analytics.
By tracking a player’s movements, intensity, and physical metrics, coaches can gain a deeper understanding of their players’ capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
The data collected from the devices will not only benefit the individual clubs but will also be shared with the national team coaches.
This will enable the coaches to select players based on their performance data and tailor training sessions to meet the specific needs of the national team.
