Kampala Queens Secure Juicy Sponsorship Deal with Jonard Conglomerate

Kampala Queens Women Football Club has secured a significant financial boost after unveiling a two-year sponsorship deal with Jonard Conglomerate Investments Limited, valued at UGX 200 million.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, October 8, at Jevine Hotel in Rubaga, Kampala, during a ceremony where the club also revealed their new jerseys for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Under the terms of the agreement, Jonard Conglomerate will contribute UGX 100 million each year, becoming the club’s official shirt sponsor until 2026.

Kampala Queens, who play in the Finance Trust FUFA Women Super League, and won the are the 2022/23 title, are expected to benefit immensely from the sponsorship, which is aimed at bolstering the club’s growth and performance.

Meddy Ssengendo, the CEO of Kampala Queens, expressed optimism about the future of the club during the unveiling.

“From the time we started in 2016, you see that our progress has been steady, and we can only get better. Today’s event marks a big milestone in our journey, and we hope it will motivate us to even get stronger,” Ssengendo said.

Jonard Conglomerate’s President, Jonard Asiimwe, highlighted the company’s commitment to sports development, noting the partnership’s potential for mutual benefit.

“Our commitment towards promoting sports and football in this country is well known because we have several other teams we work with. I believe this partnership with Kampala Queens was timely and will bear fruits because we share similar aspirations,” Asiimwe remarked.

The deal underscores the growing importance of women’s football in Uganda since the establishment of the FUFA Women’s Super League in 2015.

Kampala Queens now joins Kawempe Muslim, another club in the league, which secured sponsorship from Crystal Mineral Water.

Jonard Conglomerate is no stranger to sports sponsorship. In August 2023, the company inked a similar two-year deal worth UGX 200 million with Uganda Premier League side Kitara Football Club, further solidifying its role in supporting Ugandan football.
