In a statement released on Sunday evening, Kitara Football Club announced the departure of Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo and the entire technical team after a difficult start to the Uganda Premier League season.
The decision, described by the club as mutual, takes effect immediately and comes after Kitara’s disappointing performance, which has seen the team secure only one win and one draw in their first six games.
Kitara expressed gratitude for Ssenyondo’s dedication to the team, acknowledging his contributions to the club’s recent efforts.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Head Coach and technical team for their dedication and commitment to the club,” a club statement read.
The club highlighted that the move follows “thorough deliberation” and was made with the collective interests of the club and its supporters in mind.
The club reassured fans and stakeholders that efforts are underway to bring in a new leadership team that aligns with Kitara’s ambitions.
“The club remains focused and steps are being taken to identify new leadership that aligns with our mission,” the statement continued.
Brian Ssenyondo won the Stanbic Uganda Cup with Kitara last season and this helped the club play continental football for the first time ever.
