As KCCA prepares to face Maroons in the Uganda Premier League at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Thursday, head coach Abdallah Mubiru has shared his thoughts on two key players: striker Sadat Anaku and midfielder Jackson Nunda.
Anaku is set to make his much-anticipated second debut for KCCA after rejoining the club from Scottish side Dundee United, where injuries interrupted his career progression.
“We are grateful for the return of Sadat, who has been training well recently, and he will probably be available for selection,” Mubiru remarked during his pre-match press conference.
Mubiru also commented on Jackson Nunda, a former KCCA player now with Maroons.
While acknowledging Nunda’s skills, he emphasized that the match is about the team as a whole, rather than any individual.
“The game itself is bigger than Jackson as a person. There are many good players from both teams,” he said.
“We are focusing on planning for Maroons and how we can enhance our overall performance.”
Currently, KCCA sits in third place on the Uganda Premier League table with 14 points, poised to potentially reach the top with a win.
In contrast, Maroons are struggling in 13th position, just above the relegation zone, with six points from their six games.
This upcoming match is crucial for both teams; KCCA is aiming to solidify its title ambitions, while Maroons are eager to climb out of the relegation battle.
