Uganda’s She Cranes have secured a spot in the semifinals of the 2024 Africa Netball Cup, despite a shaky start with a loss to Zimbabwe on Monday.
The She Cranes bounced back in style with back-to-back wins, defeating hosts Namibia and Eswatini on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
Their commanding 85-34 victory over Eswatini showcased their dominance and kept their hopes alive.
Uganda’s fate was sealed after Namibia edged Zimbabwe 42-41 in a thrilling contest, ensuring the She Cranes advanced to face the Flames of Malawi in Friday’s semifinal.
The She Cranes hold a positive recent record against Malawi, having defeated them 56-43 at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
They also narrowly edged Malawi 54-52 in their first encounter at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
With history on their side, Uganda will look to continue their strong run and book a spot in the finals.
