NBS Sport has cemented its status as the leading sports television station in Uganda, with its top presenters securing dominant positions in the latest rankings by Market Intelligence Group’s Uganda National Media Survey (UNMS) for the first quarter of 2025.
According to the report, sports journalist Andrew Kabuura has emerged as the best sports television personality, while Phionah Namiiro (Fifi Phiona Pinky) was ranked third.
Brian Tukasingura (Tuka) and Hakim Kazibwe secured the fifth and sixth spots, respectively, further reinforcing the channel’s stronghold on Uganda’s sports broadcasting landscape.
The report, launched today, highlights the continued impact of NBS Sport’s programming, with Kabuura earning top honours for his roles on Sport This Evening and NBS Pressbox, where he shares the stage with Tuka.

Meanwhile, Fifi and Hakim co-host the Premier Sport Sandabula show, with Fifi also hosting The Bench.

Its sister station, NBS, secured second place, underscoring Next Media’s overall influence in the Ugandan media space.
The Uganda National Media Survey, which was conducted through random stratified sampling across 15 subregions and all districts of Uganda, provided a detailed analysis of media consumption patterns.
Dr. Joel Isabirye, the Principal Investigator and Managing Director of Market Intelligence Group, emphasized the importance of tracking media trends in a rapidly evolving landscape.

“Measuring media trends is a practice the world over. As we are all aware, the media landscape is rapidly changing, and for consumers, advertisers, and practitioners, keeping a tab on changes taking place is very important,” Isabirye said.
Uganda’s media industry has experienced significant growth over the past two decades, with more than 300 radio stations, over 50 television stations, and hundreds of digital media practitioners actively producing content daily.
The latest survey underscores NBS Sport’s continued dominance in sports broadcasting and the remarkable influence of its top personalities in shaping sports discourse in Uganda.
