Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga appears set to leave Rwandan giants APR after contract renewal negotiations stalled.
NBS Sport understands that discussions between Lwanga and the club have hit an impasse due to a failure to agree on personal terms, with only two months left on his current deal.
With uncertainty surrounding his future, the midfield enforcer has attracted interest from top African clubs, including Sudanese giants Al-Merrikh, coached by former Uganda Cranes boss Milutin Sredojević.
Lwanga, who has previously played for Simba SC, SC Villa, Express, and Vipers, was instrumental in APR’s 22nd Rwanda Premier League title triumph.
He also played a key role in their CAF Champions League campaign, though they fell short in the penultimate round with a 6-1 aggregate defeat to Pyramids.
On the international stage, Lwanga was a standout performer in Uganda’s AFCON 2025 Qualifiers, helping the Cranes secure their eighth tournament appearance and first since 2019.
Meanwhile, APR, currently four points behind leaders Rayon Sports, faces a crucial run-in with nine games left in the Rwanda Premier League season.
