Kyadondo Ssaza football team is set to reappoint Meddy Nyanzi as head coach ahead of the 2025 Masaza Cup tournament, which kicks off in June.
Nyanzi will be assisted by Simon Masaba as the team intensifies preparations in pursuit of a second title.
The decision marks a reunion between Kyadondo and Nyanzi, who previously worked with the team during last season’s campaign, where they finished fourth.
Kyadondo narrowly missed out on a place in the final after losing to Buddu in the semifinals, before falling to Buwekula in the third-place playoff.
Nyanzi brings experience from his ongoing role as head coach of Bugema University, where he guided the side to a third-place finish in the recently concluded University Football League season.
He also had a stint with Bulemeezi prior to joining Kyadondo.
Masaba’s return as assistant coach further solidifies the team’s technical bench, as the management seeks to build on last year’s performance and mount a stronger title challenge.
The 2025 Masaza Cup will begin in June, with Buddu entering the tournament as defending champions.
Buddu lifted the trophy last season after defeating Kyaggwe 1-0 in the final played at Namboole Stadium.
