MTN Uganda, in partnership with the Tooro Kingdom launched the fourth edition of the MTN Kabode Tooro Kingdom Amasaza Tournament, introducing netball alongside football in a significant expansion of the competition.

The tournament was unveiled at Muchwa and is scheduled to kick off on June 8, 2025, at Humura Church of Uganda playground.

The 2025 edition is powered by the Kabode Supa smartphone, which takes center stage as the tournament’s title sponsor.

The smartphone is available under MTN’s flexible “Mpola Mpola” payment plan, allowing fans to own the device by starting with a deposit of UGX 45,000 and completing payments in daily installments as low as UGX 1,000. Eligibility can be checked by dialing 165521#.

Throughout the tournament, MTN Uganda will engage both players and fans through various Kabode-themed rewards and activities. Man of the Match winners in both football and netball will receive Kabode Supa smartphones.

Fans will also have the chance to participate in the Kabode Fans Challenge, which includes dribble contests and lucky dip draws at match venues. Two lucky Kabode phone buyers at the venue will each win UGX 100,000.

The overall winning teams in both disciplines will be awarded Kabode Supa smartphones in addition to other prizes.

Speaking at the launch, Ian Mugambe, Marketing Manager – Devices at MTN Uganda, highlighted the significance of the partnership.

“We are proud to deepen our partnership with Tooro Kingdom through this exciting new format of the Amasaza Cup. By integrating the Kabode Supa into the tournament, we are not just celebrating sports; we’re creating pathways for digital inclusion, empowering youth, and supporting dreams.”

Tooro Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Hon. Calvin Rwomire Armstrong, welcomed the initiative.

“MTN Uganda continues to be a reliable partner in the development of our Kingdom through sports, health awareness, and now digital empowerment. With this year’s addition of netball and the Kabode Supa Smartphone offer, MTN is helping us mobilize our people towards healthier living and digital growth.”

The MTN Kabode Tooro Kingdom Amasaza Football and Netball Tournament will take place across multiple counties within Tooro, attracting thousands of youth and fans through a blend of sports, entertainment, and mobile technology.

MTN Uganda has encouraged fans across the region to rally behind their teams and embrace the Kabode vibe as the tournament gets underway, aligning with the company’s brand theme: “Together, our vibes are unstoppable.”
