Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have grabbed the lion’s share of spots among the locally-based players in the Cranes squad, summoned for the forthcoming international friendlies against powerhouse Cameroon and Gambia.
League top-scorer Allan Okello, midfielder Abdu Karim Watambala, defenders Hillary Mukundane and Nicholas Wadada have all received the call-up from head coach Paul Joseph Put, where they’ll battle Cameroon on June 6, before the Gambia tie three days later.
Others summoned locally, include two from KCCA FC, with Shafik Nana Kwikiriza and Usama Arafat Kiza in the team. NEC FC has seen goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo and midfielder Enock Ssebagala as the representatives.
League record holders SC Villa have sent defender Arnold Odong and talented attacker Jonah Patrick Kakande called up, while URA FCand BUL FC, have one apiece in striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe and custodian Joel Mutakubwa, respectively.
The selected local players and officials will convene at FUFA House in Mengo on Monday, 2nd June 2025. The contingent will then travel to Marrakech later that day. All foreign-based players will link up with the squad directly in Morocco, according to a FUFA communication.
