Novak Djokovic made tennis history today, claiming his 100th ATP singles title with a hard-fought comeback win over Hubert Hurkacz at the Geneva Open.
The Serbian superstar, 38, joins Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer as only the third man in the Open era to reach this milestone.
Djokovic battled for over three hours to defeat Hurkacz 5-7, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (7-2).
The victory provides a crucial confidence boost and valuable clay-court preparation as he heads into the French Open this Sunday, where he aims for a record 25th Grand Slam title.
“I had to work for it,” Djokovic stated, acknowledging the tough contest.
This triumph marks his first title since the Paris Olympics last year, ending a challenging period that included injury and early exits from previous clay tournaments.
