Uganda U-17 national team officials have arrived in Qatar ahead of a series of key events in preparation for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup scheduled for November 3–27, 2025.
Team Manager Bashir Mutyaba and Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo are representing Uganda at the official FIFA team workshop in Doha.
The workshop brings together representatives from all 48 qualified teams and is designed to provide crucial technical, medical, and logistical guidelines ahead of the expanded tournament, which will feature a record number of participants.
The Ugandan delegation will also attend the official draw for the tournament on Sunday, in Doha.
Uganda is among the 10 African teams qualified for the historic edition of the U-17 World Cup, which will, for the first time, include 48 teams drawn into 12 groups.
The Cubs have been placed in Pot 4 alongside teams such as the UAE, Portugal, Czech Republic, Ireland, and Saudi Arabia.
The draw will determine which group Uganda falls into, as well as its first opponents in the group stage.
All matches of the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup will be held at eight stadiums within the Aspire Academy sports complex in Doha, with the final set to take place at the iconic Khalifa International Stadium.
The tournament format allows for the top two teams in each group and the eight best third-placed teams to progress to the Round of 32, setting up a highly competitive knockout phase that ends with the final on November 27.
Uganda’s qualification for the tournament marks a significant achievement in youth football development and offers the nation an opportunity to compete at the highest level against global footballing powerhouses.
