The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has unveiled a brand new Uganda Cup trophy ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 final between KCCA and Vipers.
The decisive fixture is set to take place under the floodlights at FUFA Kadiba Stadium on Saturday, 31st May.
This year’s final is a repeat of the 2018 showdown in Bukedea, where KCCA emerged 1-0 victors, thanks to a goal by then-captain Julius Poloto.
Both sides return with renewed ambition, and the new trophy will add further significance to an already heated rivalry.
KCCA secured their spot in the final after overcoming Kataka FC with a convincing 4-1 aggregate win in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Vipers advanced past defending champions Kitara FC with a 2-0 aggregate result.
Historically, KCCA are joint record holders of the competition, having lifted the Uganda Cup ten times.
Vipers, on the other hand, are three-time winners and will be playing in their third final in four seasons.
The winner of the Uganda Cup earns the right to represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
However, should Vipers win the final, the continental slot will be passed on to NEC, who finished second in the Uganda Premier League, since Vipers have already qualified for continental football through their league performance.
