Novak Djokovic secured his spot in the French Open quarter-finals on Monday, defeating Great Britain’s Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-2.
This victory marked Djokovic’s 100th match win at Roland Garros as he continues his quest for a record 25th Grand Slam singles title.
Norrie, despite a strong tournament run that included an upset over Daniil Medvedev, couldn’t seriously challenge the veteran Serb. He acknowledged being “a little bit flat” during the match.
Djokovic, the sixth seed, will now face third seed Alexander Zverev, who previously defeated him at this year’s Australian Open. Norrie’s exit, along with Jack Draper’s loss, ended British singles interest in the tournament.
Despite the defeat, Norrie’s performance at the French Open was a positive step, and he is expected to re-enter the top 60 rankings as he transitions to the grass-court season.
