Defending French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz delivered a dominant performance today, crushing American 12th seed Tommy Paul 6-0 6-1 6-4 to reach the semi-finals.
The 22-year-old second seed showcased exceptional form, wrapping up the match in just 94 minutes.
Alcaraz, a three-time Grand Slam winner, described his play as “one of those matches where everything went in,” a sentiment echoed by former British number one Greg Rusedski, who called the display “magnificent.”
The Spaniard will now face Italian eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti in a highly anticipated semi-final clash. Musetti, 23, secured his spot by defeating Frances Tiafoe 6-2 4-6 7-5 6-2 earlier in the day.
This will be Musetti’s second career Grand Slam semi-final, following his run at Wimbledon in 2024.
Alcaraz has already beaten Musetti twice on clay this year, in Rome and Monte Carlo.
Musetti, who attributes his strong clay-court season and improved focus to becoming a father, will be looking to reverse those results as he seeks his first Grand Slam final.
