Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes head coach Charles Onen has named his final twenty-eight-player list for the 2025 women’s Rugby Africa Cup.
The squad, led by captain Angella Nanyonjo, will depart for Antananarivo, Madagascar on Wednesday.

Four players, Jeniffer Musanabera, Hellen Acanit, Latifa Tiko, and Mercy Atek, will make their full senior national team debuts.
On the other hand, conspicuously missing is national 7s captain Peace Lekuru who was ruled out by an ankle injury. The other changes from the Division One tournament, all due to injury, are Fazira Namukwaya, Beth Asaba, Leona Acen, and Grace Auma.
The 2025 women’s Rugby Africa Cup will be played at the Stade Makis Andohatapenaka from June 7-15.
Uganda will face South Africa, Madagascar and Kenya in the tournament. They enter the Rugby Africa Cup as the lowest-ranked team but will have room for error since there is no threat of relegation back to the lower division.
