Steven Mukwala’s debut season at Simba SC in the 2024/25 campaign has been nothing short of impressive.
The Ugandan forward hit the ground running in the Tanzanian Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup, proving to be a valuable addition to Simba’s attacking force.
Mukwala netted 13 goals, finishing among the top scorers at the club. His sharp positioning, clinical finishing, and intelligent runs made him a constant threat to defenders across the league.
Alongside his goals, he registered three assists, showing his ability to link up play and create chances for his teammates. Whether dropping deep or making runs behind the backline, Mukwala added variety to Simba’s attacking patterns.
His performances did not go unnoticed. He bagged Two Player of the Month awards during the campaign, a clear testament to his consistency and match-winning impact. In key fixtures, he often rose to the occasion with decisive contributions.
Mukwala was also named Man of the Match on three occasions, underlining his influence on individual games. Whether at home or away, his presence on the pitch lifted Simba’s frontline and energized the fans.
Despite playing only 1,180 minutes due to rotation and tactical adjustments, his goal return remains outstanding — averaging a goal roughly every 91 minutes.
As he reflects on his debut season, Mukwala can take pride in a strong foundation laid at the Tanzanian giants. ‘Wekundu Wa Msimbazi’ can expect even more from the Ugandan marksman in the 2025/26 campaign.
