Manchester United has announced that club legend Jonny Evans is returning to Old Trafford in a new capacity after officially retiring from professional football.
Evans, who made 241 appearances for the club, will now serve as the Head of Loans and Pathways.
In this crucial new role, Evans will work alongside Director of Football Jason Wilcox to bolster the development of young players.
His primary responsibility will be to identify and facilitate the most suitable loan moves for emerging talents, ensuring they gain vital first-team experience and are prepared for the senior squad.
“Having had experience of loans myself, I know the crucial role that they can play within a player’s development,” Evans stated, emphasizing his personal insight into the process. “I am looking forward to working with the next generation of talented players.”
