MTN Uganda and the Busoga Kingdom have officially launched the 8th edition of the MTN Busoga Kingdom Masaza Tournament, with a major spotlight on fan and player rewards powered by the Kabode Supa smartphone.
This year’s tournament isn’t just about goals and glory. It’s also about giving back.
MTN is rolling out a full lineup of rewards to celebrate the tournament’s top performers and most engaged fans, with the Kabode Supa phone at the heart of the experience.
Every match will crown a Man of the Match, who’ll walk away with a fully connected Kabode Supa smartphone, courtesy of MTN Uganda. At the end of the tournament, the overall winning team will also be rewarded with Kabode Supa devices among other prizes.
But it’s not just about the players. Fans will have plenty of chances to win too. MTN will host halftime challenges like dribble contests and lucky dip draws at match venues.
Winners of the dribble challenge will score Kabode Supa phones, while lucky fans who buy a Kabode at the game stand a chance to win UGX 100,000 on the spot.
The Kabode Supa smartphone, available through MTN’s Mpola Mpola payment plan, is now more accessible than ever. With a UGX 45,000 deposit and daily payments as low as UGX 1,000, fans can own the device by dialing 165521# to check if they qualify.
“The Kabode Supa smartphone is a game-changer,” said Ian Mugambe, MTN Uganda’s Marketing Manager – Devices. “It’s not just about connectivity. It’s about inclusion, empowerment, and celebrating those who show up and show out.”
The tournament theme, “Men are the Pillars in Ending Teenage Pregnancy,” remains central, with live fan interactions at matches encouraging men to engage in real conversations around the issue.
Fourteen football teams from 11 chiefdoms will battle across four groups, with matches kicking off July 12 at Irundu Primary School in Buyende District as Budiope takes on Bukono.
The tournament also keeps its tradition of men’s bicycle races alive, expanding engagement beyond the pitch.
