Luka Modric will join AC Milan in August, manager Massimiliano Allegri confirmed today.
The 39-year-old Croatian star will move to Italy after concluding his 13-year Real Madrid career following the Club World Cup.
“Modric will arrive in August. He is an extraordinary player,” Allegri stated in his first press conference back at the helm.
Modric, a 2018 Ballon d’Or winner with 28 trophies at Real Madrid, including six Champions Leagues, aims to continue playing at the highest level to boost his chances for the 2026 World Cup.
Milan has seen changes, with Tijjani Reijnders sold to Manchester City and Theo Hernandez linked to Al-Hilal.
However, Allegri is optimistic that key players like goalkeeper Mike Maignan and forward Rafael Leao will remain. Milan begins their Serie A season on August 23 against Cremonese.
