Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Denmark international midfielder Christian Norgaard from Brentford in a deal valued at an initial £10 million, potentially rising to £15 million with add-ons.
The 31-year-old has agreed to a two-year contract with an option for a third, becoming Arsenal’s third summer acquisition.
Norgaard, a key figure and former captain at Brentford with 196 appearances, expressed his excitement about realizing a “childhood dream” of playing Champions League football. “Now I get to hear the anthem and be a part of a Champions League campaign,” he stated.
This signing follows the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi (£60m from Real Sociedad) and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5m from Chelsea).
Arsenal are also reportedly in talks for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres (£70m) and has approached Chelsea for winger Noni Madueke.
