After a long spell of drama, and back and forths, Ugandan international and versatile midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda has finally been unveiled at Rwanda’s APR FC.
The midfielder’s move had been the subject of intense speculation for months, with numerous twists and turns keeping fans on edge. He now joins on a two-year contract, following his exit from 17-time Uganda Premier League champions, SC Villa.
Ssekiganda, who was a vital cog in Uganda’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign, attracted interest from several regional powerhouses before settling for APR.
For Ssekiganda, this move represents a new chapter in his blossoming career, offering him a chance to compete at a higher level, especially with the 2025/26 CAF Champions League on the horizon.
At the club, he links up with compatriots, including talisman Denis Omedi and fast-paced winger Hakim Kiwanuka. Meanwhile, midfielder Taddeo Lwanga recently called it time at the club.
Ssekiganda, 21, leaves the local scene having won the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League title with SC Villa. At the time of his exit, he was the latter’s skipper.
