Leicester City have appointed Marti Cifuentes, the former Queens Park Rangers head coach, as their new manager on a three-year contract.
The 43-year-old Spaniard takes over from Ruud van Nistelrooy, following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
Cifuentes, who previously coached Hammarby in Sweden, took charge of QPR in October 2023 and guided them to a 15th-place finish in the Championship before being put on gardening leave in April.
“This is a fantastic club with a proud history and it’s a privilege to me to be asked to help write the next chapter,” Cifuentes said in a statement.
Leicester is set to begin their Championship season at home against Sheffield Wednesday on August 10.
