Lugazi have officially signed winger Owachgiu Edrine Junior from Big Talent Soccer Academy on a two-year deal, marking a key addition as they look to build on their debut Uganda Premier League campaign.
Owachgiu arrives with a promising track record, having featured for Turkish side Bandirmaspor and represented Butambala and Busiro in the Buganda Masaza Cup.
He rose to prominence in 2022 as the standout player at the FEASSA Games in Tanzania, where he helped Kibuli Secondary School lift the title and was named tournament MVP.
The signing of Owachgiu is part of a broader recruitment drive by Lugazi, who finished 13th in their first-ever UPL season with 31 points from 30 games.
The club has also brought in defender Yusuf Mafabi and striker Paul Busolo—both from Mbarara City—on two-year contracts.
Versatile defender Dauson Mafumu has also joined from Express, committing to a two-year stay.
With these new arrivals, Lugazi are clearly looking to sharpen their edge in both attack and defense as they aim for a stronger showing in the 2025/2026 season.
