Football for a Cause: Rotary 5-Aside Unites Clubs for Charity

The ninth edition of the Rotary 5-aside football tournament took place today at the Kampala International School Uganda (KISU) football grounds, bringing together several Rotary and Rotaract clubs for a lively one-day competition.

Focused on strengthening networks and promoting physical activity through football, the event also aimed to raise funds for impactful community initiatives.

Broadcast live on NBS Sport, the tournament highlighted a shared commitment to mobilizing resources in support of disadvantaged communities across Uganda.

Organizing committee chairman Obal Atubo emphasized the broader purpose behind the games.

“It’s about people coming together to have fun for a good cause. Sport unites people, and football brings everyone together,” Obal said.

Nakasero Rotary Club, last year’s champions, took home a cash prize of 5 million shillings.
