The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed Bashir Mutyaba as its new Football Development Director, effective August 1, 2025.
Mutyaba steps into the role following the departure of Ali Mwebe, who has joined FIFA as a Regional Technical Consultant.
This change marks a key transition in FUFA’s development leadership, with Mutyaba expected to ensure the continuation of several youth and grassroots football initiatives already in motion.
A longtime member of FUFA’s Development Department, Mutyaba has played a key role in implementing youth-focused programmes backed by both CAF and FIFA.
His promotion is seen as a strategic move to maintain momentum on projects that aim to raise the standard of Ugandan football from the ground up.
FUFA has called on all football stakeholders across the country to support Mutyaba in his new role. The federation has already informed FIFA of the appointment, and the global football body has responded with full support.
