URA have confirmed the return of goalkeeper Chrispas Kusiima, signing him on a two-year deal following the expiry of his contract at Kitara.
The goalkeeper re-joins the Tax Collectors nearly a decade after his first stint at the club in 2016.
Back then, Kusiima struggled for minutes due to stiff competition, prompting a move in search of regular playing time.
Since then, he’s grown into one of the country’s most consistent shot-stoppers, with spells at Tooro United, Gaddafi, and Express—where he was instrumental in their 2020/21 league title win.
Kusiima’s recent form at Kitara has been nothing short of exceptional.
After joining the Royals in 2023, he helped them to a top-five league finish and their first-ever Stanbic Uganda Cup victory, which secured their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
His performances in the 2024/25 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season were dominant: 27 appearances, 16 clean sheets, and 2,430 minutes played—earning him the Golden Glove award.
In total, over the past three seasons, Kusiima has featured in 62 league matches and kept 32 clean sheets.
His consistency has also earned him a place in the Uganda Cranes local-based squad preparing for CHAN 2024, making him URA’s sole representative at the tournament.
He becomes the club’s second signing of the transfer window, following the return of winger Living Kabon, also from Kitara.
