Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has cast uncertainty over striker Nicolas Jackson’s future at the club, suggesting a transfer is possible this summer.
The manager’s comments come amid reports of interest from Newcastle, who reportedly see Jackson as a target after their move for Benjamin Sesko was hijacked by Manchester United.
Chelsea would reportedly demand at least £65 million for Jackson, more than double the £32 million they paid Villarreal for him in 2023.
Maresca cited the arrivals of new strikers Joao Pedro and Liam Delap as a factor, stating, “When the transfer window is open… anything can happen. This also involves Nico’s situation.”
In other Chelsea news, defender Levi Colwill has sustained an injury in training, with Maresca unable to give a timeline for his return.
Meanwhile, Wesley Fofana is nearing a comeback from his hamstring injury and is expected to be fit for the opening Premier League match.
