NEC will face Sudan’s Al Ahli Madani in the Preliminary Round of the 2025-26 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup following Saturday’s draw in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The Uganda Premier League runners-up earned their continental ticket after Vipers SC’s domestic double last season, which saw them claim both the league and Uganda Cup titles.
The Confederation Cup slot, normally reserved for the cup winners, was passed to NEC as the second-placed league side.
Victory over Al Ahli Madani would set up a Second Preliminary Round clash with Tunisian heavyweights Étoile Sportive du Sahel.
Preliminary Round ties will be played over two legs between 19–21 September and 26–28 September, with winners progressing to the next stage in October.
The 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup group stage begins on 21 November, with the knockout rounds starting in March 2026.
