Tottenham Hotspur are ramping up their pursuit of Crystal Palace and England forward Eberechi Eze, with sources indicating he has become a primary target for the club.
The move comes as Spurs manager Thomas Frank seeks to strengthen his attacking options following a long-term injury to key midfielder James Maddison.
Maddison was recently ruled out for the majority of the season after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee during a pre-season friendly.
The absence of the influential attacking midfielder has spurred Tottenham to act in the transfer market.
Eze, 27, is a player of “serious interest” for Spurs, according to multiple sources. The forward enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, scoring 14 goals across all competitions for Crystal Palace, including the winning goal in their 1-0 FA Cup final victory against Manchester City.
A full England international, Eze made his debut in 2023 and has since earned 11 caps, including three appearances at Euro 2024. He also recently scored his first goal for the national team in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Latvia.
While Tottenham is also in talks with Manchester City over a potential deal for Brazilian winger Savinho, it remains unclear if the club will pursue both players.
Meanwhile, North London rivals Arsenal also hold an interest in Eze. However, the Gunners are currently focused on offloading players, with Leandro Trossard, Reiss Nelson, and Fabio Vieira among those expected to leave.
It is yet to be seen if Tottenham’s active interest will force Arsenal to accelerate their own plans for the England international.
Eze’s current contract at Selhurst Park runs until the summer of 2027. He joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 for a fee of £19.5 million and has since scored 40 goals in 168 appearances for the club.
